Baldwin First Floor Makeover
A young couple, who had recently purchased
their first home in Baldwin, Maryland, hired CertaPro Painters to assist in painting and
remodeling the first floor. The home was over thirty years old, and
due to age and settling required a high level of surface and wall preparation.
There were extensive nail pops and settlement cracks throughout and the
previous owners were heavy smokers, which resulted in the need to fully prime
the walls, ceilings and trim to seal in previous nicotine stains and odor.
Our crew filled a five pound bucket with the nails pulled from the walls and
ceilings and replaced the nails with sheetrock screws!
Before the painting project could begin, the colors for the home needed to be determined. The customers took advantage of our free color consultation service to assist them in the selection process. Our color consultant met with the young couple to assist in creating a color scheme, which facilitated a smooth flow and transition from room to room. In addition several key areas in the rooms were highlighted with accent colors to create unique feelings in each room. The pictures below show the before and after work CertaPro Painters did in the couples Dining Room. Note how the use of accent color below the chair rail sets off the space and enhances the detail provided by the crown molding and chair rail.
Before the project began the room appeared monotone and the details of the molding were lost.
After the project was completed note how the accent color gives the room more character and the freshly painted trim accentuates the details of the room.
